What a fantastic weekend.  On Thursday night, driving into Chapel Hill with the windows down, the air was crisp and smelled like fireplaces, which was perfect, since Chapel Hill always makes me think of autumn. It's is one of those places that always feels like home, especially with the set of friends that live there. The long weekend (plus an unexpected extension) was a perfect way to say goodbye to summer: good food, great company, Broken Social Scene, city lights, chocolate croissants, the most perfect vintage dress I've ever found, Chinatown on the big screen, and so, so much more...However, driving back to Charleston this morning gave me this feeling of exhilaration. It was such a gorgeous day and such a peaceful drive that I briefly considered just continuing south, past Charleston, just to see where I ended up.

The drive made me feel like this:

I can totally agree that Chapel Hill just feels like home. Nicole and I visited when we were in NC last month, and I immediately wanted to buy a house on East Franklin and settle down there.

Also, Fleet Foxes are fantastic and I just now discovered them, they are amongst many of the awesome bands that I plan on using for lullabies for Beau when he is born, none of those boring twinkle twinkle little star songs, just awesome music like Fleet Foxes and Bon Iver.

Yeah ... Chapel Hill is a perfect place to settle down. I have some dreams of raising hippie babies in Carrboro/Hillsborough.

Those bands make the perfect lullabies. Beau will be one hip baby.
