Paris by candlelight.

Diptyque is releasing two limited edition candles, "La Belle" and "La Bete," designed by Kuntzel + Deygas, and have this pretty video (also done by K +D) to creatively spread the news:

diptyque invite Kuntzel+Deygas from Diptyque on Vimeo.

For the record, my favorite classic Diptyque candle is Fig Tree (Figuier).

Jack knows best.

Jack (O'Connor), J. Crew's in-house men's stylist, is here to help guys with all of their styling needs (and boy do they have needs). Meet Jack here. Or email him with all of your sartorial questions at jack@jcrew.com.

I have to say...whoever is doing this branding for J. Crew deserves a big pat on the back...I love how they're aligning themselves with classic brands and looking effortlessly cool the whole way through.

And for you lady J. Crew lovers like myself, here's some other inspirational vids from our favorite rumpled prep store.

Labor Day.

Lying looks like one long Nylon photo shoot. I probably will see this, even though I know very little about the plot.

Happy Labor Day, y'all. Go to the pool. Eat a free Chick-fil-a sandwich. Eat ice cream and let a little bit melt from the cone and run down your arm. Check out a cute boy or a pretty girl. Love freedom. Take a nap on the couch. Go to the movies. Spend time with your friends. Love life.

from FilmoFilia.
I am so excited about this film, I can barely stand it.

This leads to me rebuilding my Dream Girl Posse. This girl posse of mine is a mixture of women who inspire me and I would love to have as my best friends/ girl crushes.

Zooey Deschanel

from ZooeyDeschanel.us
She will always be on my list, because if she isn't playing an awesome role in a film, she's wearing something incredible to a premire or making beautiful music.

Audrey Tautou

from MimiFrouFrou.com
She's a pixie, she's French, she played my favorite film character ever (Amelie) and she continues to be awesome.

Leslie Feist

from CBC.ca
I thought that no album could be better than Let it Die, but then Feist came out with The Reminder. There was a time in the recent past where that album, and especially the song "I Feel it All," was the only thing that could make me feel that all was right with the world.

Themed Movie-viewing

My last two movies from Netflix were:

and

Once I started watching the second one, I realzed a theme: 2 Days in Paris dealt with the relationship between a French woman and an American man, while Broken English dealt with an American woman and a French man.

These movies were both great, in my opinion. I love the way language serves as a third character in these films--the miscommunication and all that stems from it.

Great movies. Watch them.
