This weekend's theme: Mad Men.

Looking at this weekend's activities,  my excitement for the two-hour season five premiere of Mad Men has been obvious the past few days:

Donald Glover, marry me?

OK, so I'm in heaps of trouble. I'm turning into...a fangirl. Big time. It all started with the show, Community. It quickly became one of my favorites, especially the little sketches at the end between Troy and Abed. So...that's the first part. The way to my heart? Laughter. Always and forever. Then, time passes, and I start hearing about Donald Glover's album, which he offers for free download. Which led me to downloading his older mixtapes, where he reworks the likes of Grizzly Bear, Sleigh Bells, and Washed Out. Which led to me reading his blog (loves art, music, food, and has fantastic boy style) and following him on Twitter. Which led to me reading articles like this about him, where he references St. Vincent, The Cranberries, and Encyclopedia Brown. Needless to say, if I were 12 years younger, I'd be hanging posters of him over my bed.

Going Mad Men crazy.

I might as well just start a blog dedicated to Mad Men, because I'm completely obsessed.

Here's some of what we can anticipate for Season 3:

Also, did you know that you can "Mad Men Yourself"?

Here's me (I know, the resemblance is striking.):

Also, Jon Hamm (aka Don Draper) plays Rummikub. My life is complete.

Mad Men is coming!

You can bet your bustiers that I'll be hiding from the August heat and, instead, staying in with Mad Men and a chilly gin and tonic.

MADNESS.

Image from the The Chicago Tribune.

Holy cow...I know I'm late to the party on this one, but how good is Mad Men? The intro credits, the storyline, THE COSTUMES, the characters...it's like an Academy Award-winning drama stretched into multiple seasons of awe-inspiring goodness. It's too good to be a TV show, really.

I always meant to watch this show, but I learned about it after the first season had already begun, and I hate starting a show in the middle of the season. Thanks to the almighty Netflix, I am now three or four episodes away from the end of Season One. Too bad Season Two is already on air. Hopefully I'll be able to catch up on the marathon of that one.

I just cannot get enough. Does anyone else watch this? Have a favorite character?
